After the dust had settled from our lightning strike, we were somewhat amazed at what actually happened. The blue circle below is, obviously, the tree. The thin arrows show all the directions that pieces flew, some a couple hundred feet, some buried in the dirt like warrior spears. On the house, you can see which windows were broken. The amazing part, though, is the window that didn’t break. That’s the one with the heavy black line. If you’ll notice, that window was in a direct line from the tree to where I was sitting at the computer.

Could it be that God had an angel stationed there to protect me? Look at the drawing, and you decide.

He will cover you with His pinions,
And under His wings you may seek refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.

Psalms 91:4

    That is simply amazing. And I am very glad for that angel. We saw you in the paper the other day btw.

    Ah, threecollie, you subscribe to the competition, eh? I tried to tell the photographer that the dog is much more photogenic than I am, but she said her boss wouldn’t buy it. :)

    Do you mean that your tree exploded?? Yowee! I sure think it was God’s angels! I also am surprised that you would be sitting by your computer during such an intense storm — I don’t know if I would have dared! You are a very brave woman!

    P.S. I don’t know if you have the time or the inclination, Jean, but I have started a “meme” on one of my blogs called “Favorite Founders’ Quote Friday.” Basically, every Friday, you would post one of your favorite quotes from one of the Founding Fathers, with his portrait (optional), and the source of the quote.

    If you would like to join, all you have to do is leave a comment on my blog, here, and be sure to post a quote every Friday.

    I don’t know if you would like to, or if you would have the time, but I wanted to offer you the opportunity, as a “bloggy” friend.

    God bless.
