akaGaGa: I just discovered your blog and I enjoy it. I served in the military for 22+ years, and I know *just how much* we should watch the federal government. And we should watch it, the founding fathers set things up for that specific end. That being said, the “Oh my God, we’re becoming a Police State” crowd generally jump at all the *wrong* things or misinterpret things in much the same way as the good Doctor’s article. Keep searching for the truth (I’m looking too, let me know if get in any leads…)and I’ll keep reading…:)

Mike, I appreciate your input, and I should have checked everything before I posted it – which I will start doing right now. Retractions will be posted as necessary, although I’m going out of town for a few days, so I probably won’t get through it all until next week.

Again, thanks for pointing this out. I’m interested in the truth, not in a particular agenda.

My apologies as this won't be popular, but Dr. Federson has played fast and loose with the "facts" in his article. I haven't had the time to read every single Executive Order in detail, but I did read over EOs 12656, 10990, 10995, and 10997.

Quite frankly, they say none of the things he claims they do. If he's extrapolating from the wording of the document, he's *really* reaching. One of the most glaring errors is the assertion that a federalized National Guard could seal the country on Presidential order. Once the National Guard was federalized, it would be subject to the Posse Commitatus Act and would be prohibited from doing so without Congressional approval.

Sorry, we have some troubles in the country, and I'm as concerned as the next person about government "encroachment" in our normal lives...but if the rest of his article is as detached from its source documents as the above four examples...he's simply being an alarmist.

So, this "war on terror" is not about fighting Muslim jihadist extremists. Somehow, the government thinks that American citizens are terrorists?

No, not even that. There never was a war ON terror. There has been war BY terror, and brainwashing.

The thing that upsets me most about all this, is that too many national leaders, icons, and figures in the "right-wing" "Christian" "conservative" movement, are following along. If it were not for their continued support of Bush and his crony war, he never would have been reelected.

But thank God for blogs like yours, to get the word out, and get people out of their pop-Christian culture, and see the face of reality. Christians need to avoid complacency in a whole new way, and not just when it comes to voting.

Maybe I'll blog about this sometime.

In the meantime, God bless and protect you and yours.
