Dmitry Orlov, who watched the Russian empire crumble, has written an interesting piece comparing it to the situation in the U.S. It’s called The Five Stages of Collapse:

Stage 1 – financial collapse
Stage 2 – commercial collapse
Stage 3 – political collapse
Stage 4 – social collapse
Stage 5 – cultural collapse

This is a fascinating read and I’d encourage you to do just that. Who knows? Maybe we can all learn something.

Orlov is wrong, dead wrong. He’s coming to the table with a humanist world view. Turn the stages completely around, and that’s how it’s happening.

Of course! You’re absolutely right, Cato!

I had never thought about this happening in “stages” before, and obviously I didn’t think it through.

    Thanks, my friend.

    Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
