In addition to the White House, it seems our new president has inherited from our old president a love for illegal spying on US citizens. (hat tip to the Chestnut Tree Cafe.)

The Obama administration fell in line with the Bush administration Thursday when it urged a federal judge to set aside a ruling in a closely watched spy case weighing whether a U.S. president may bypass Congress and establish a program of eavesdropping on Americans without warrants.

So it occurs to me that, even though this is well-past 1984, perhaps we need a new Obama Dictionary, just so we can all keep up.

Thanks so much for the link. We’re in for an interesting … well, I started to say “four years,” but given the economic realities, I’m not sure there’s four years of life-as-we-know-it left to the USA. We’re in for an interesting indefinite period of time, how’s that?

Meanwhile, this isn’t just a “good blog;” this is a great blog! I’m still making my way through your “Top Posts” archive. Please keep up the fine work! It’s good to find another NAS Bible fan.

Thanks, Jim. I don’t think I know of anyone who’s gone through all my top posts! Maybe I should give you an award. :)

And, yep, I usually stick with the NAS, ’cause I’m looking for truth, not poetry.
