Queen of Pith has an interesting article up about the “stimulus” plan and the difficulty she had in finding out just what it includes. Because of that, she found it ironic that this statement is on Obama’s website:
Sunlight Before Signing: Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them. As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days. Now, they are claiming this is an emergency
spendingstimulus bill. However, I believe this bill could wait FIVE DAYS for the public to attempt to read the plan.
I thought this was worthy of the dictionary.
Entry #4:
non-emergency = emergency

It seems that there are a lot of “emergency” bills since he’s already signed atleast 2 bills that weren’t up for the five days on the website.
I agree what are 5 days going to hurt with the way things are at the moment? Oh well I’m sure the public wouldn’t be smart enough to understand and Mr.Obama is just trying to spare us in using the brains that God gave us and make everything just peachy. *rolling my eyes*
On the other hand, maybe the bills aren’t up for five days because someone WILL understand.
