Welcome to the Word for Wednesday meme. I hope you’ll decide to particpate.

Just pick a scripture passage that means something to you right now, and copy it into a post with as much or as little commentary as you choose. Please note that Mr. Linky is not available, so just leave a link to your post in the comments. It’s that easy, and you may never know whose heart God touched because you took the time to share His Word.

The land of the free and the home of the brave. Most of us alive today have been raised to believe that America is invincible, the champion of right, and the protector of the world. We cannot fail.

Students of history, though, know that all “great civilizations” come to an end. Students of Christian history know that they come to an end when the citizens believe that their rulers and their government are the reason for their greatness, when they cease to acknowledge the blessings of God.

We are certainly in that time frame. The Bible is about to become “hate speech.” God’s name has been banned from our schools, and is being eradicated from monuments and court chambers nationwide. Our current President, elected by an adoring majority, had these mocking words to say about the Bible, despite his claim to being a Christian. Take two minutes to watch.

Despite the signs all around us that our civilization is about to crash and burn, we go about our lives as though nothing can ever change, just as Jesus prophesied:

For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be. (Matthew 24:37-39)

I don’t know that this process can be prevented at this point, or even delayed. But I know the promise that God made to Israel, and Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Perhaps it’s time for America to acknowledge her sin, and acknowledge her God, and repent.

I made this video last winter in the hopes that someone might have ears to hear the truth. It’s time for a replay.

I want to see the two videos you embedded before offering any comment, so I'll have to come back this evening and do that (my day-job employer forbids — reasonably enough — the viewing of streaming video on its network).

    Meanwhile, here's my offering.
