Well, my husband has since informed me that my phone does have GPS, so I was operating under a false sense of anonymity. But I've had this phone for at least five or six years, and they haven't told me I have to get rid of it yet. If they did, I'd probably be so mad that I'd get something completely different!

Mom is doing a bit better. At least she can swallow to eat now. And yesterday they moved her into a rehab hospital, and they're doing intense therapy. Don't know what will happen when the insurance boots her out of there. Hubby's sister is a nurse in Maine, and would welcome her, but Mom's mandated-insurance in the grand state of Massachusetts won't cover anything if she moves out of state.

About a year or two ago, Tracfone informed US that we had to replace our perfectly good phone because of "outdated" technology. The old one *just* stopped working. There was nothing wrong with it, though, and it was only a year old...

And then I hear of other people who are still using their old phones!!! I'm paranoid now. Well, not exactly paranoid, but mighty suspicious.

How's your Mother-in-law?

@Mrs. M I would think they all do it, but the other guys haven't had an employee out there spilling the beans. Or maybe Sprint is just ahead of the technology game.

Me? I don't use cell phones all that much. I've got an old trac phone that I think was made before they started installing GPS. It suits me just fine. I wonder if, like the rfid chips, we could wrap the newer ones in foil to prevent the GPS from working?

@AKA That's a good post. Thanks for the link.
