My mother-in-law, who has to be the sweetest lady I’ve ever known, had a stroke today. All we know at this point is that she’s in the hospital and she’s alert, but she can’t speak.

Thanks for the prayers, all. Mom is regaining some strength, but she still can’t talk, use her right arm, or swallow properly. They’ve started speech therapy, and she practiced writing today with her left hand. She’s in pretty good spirits, but she’s starting to realize that life has changed – as we all have.
