I confess right now that I’m not a football fan. It’s a violent game, and you can’t even see the guys’ faces. What fun is that?
But I tend to feel left out this time of year, so after giving it some thought, I’ve decided who I’m going to rout for this year: the offense.
Which offense, you ask?
“The” offense, I answer.
If I have to watch the game, then I want to see stupendous catches and runs and lots of scoring. The best way for that to happen is for the offense to win.
So that’s my pick.

I don’t know when the last time was, that I sat down and watched any football game. Must have been when I was younger… always liked the fighting and those cute little tight ends…
just being honest.
This year I think I’ll just cheer on who ever is the underdog… That’s just how I am… I like the runts and underdogs… Why? Just how I’m geared.
Rooting for the runts and underdogs is as good a reason as any, Sara. I was a Redsox fan for twenty-plus years before they broke the 86-year “curse” and actually won the World Series.
I, too, will root for the offense … as long as it’s wearing a blue jersey and #18′s under center. (Or in the shotgun … I’m not fussy!)
Well, I guess you’re entitled to a little geographical bias, Jim … but I’m still rooting for the offense.
