I, too, have been reflecting on this same topic; one huge realization that hit me was that GOD HEARS ME WHEN I CALL HIM!! Why is this? Because I have set my love upon Him! (Psalm 91) There are SO many songs that have been written that speak of this topic... there is an old hymn by Charles Wesley called, "And Can it Be?" "He left His Father’s throne above So free, so infinite His grace— Emptied Himself of all but love, And bled for Adam’s helpless race: ’Tis mercy all, immense and free, For O my God, it found out me!"
