Nobody gets to the bottom line quite as well as Ron Paul.  Here’s a quote from his assessment of Obamacare:

Any time a government tries to give you a service or something of substance, they have to steal it from somebody else.  So the whole process is immoral, because it’s based on government theft.  That’s why they’re hiring 16,000 more new IRS agents, because they have to steal more money.

Government theft.  Wealth redistribution.  Socialism.  Call it what you will, it destroys economies, it destroys liberty, it destroys lives.  Welcome to the new Amerika.

I’ve just listened to this, and I do like Dr. Paul quite a lot; I was among those who added some of my intrinsically worthless federal reserve notes to his “money bomb” a couple of years ago. But still, when I contemplate the quote you extracted from his words above, I agree; but then I think, Representative Paul, you’re accepting a congressional salary, right? You’re occupying an office in DC, and paying a staff, right? Isn’t that pretty much stolen property?

Don’t get me wrong — I certainly don’t begrudge what little bit of my taxes goes to pay for Ron Paul’s activities. Still, principle is principle, and consistency is consistency.

Ya’know, I agree with you. There was a quote of his a few months ago that had me thinking along the same lines. I think it was about earmarks.

But then the other side of my brain kicks in, and I think that at least he’s one voice that’s consistently spoken the truth and voted on principles, and that’s got to count for something.

I don’t know. Maybe I’m not completely an anarchist … yet.

I despise how everyone goes running to get Ron Paul’s opinion every time the Gubment does something Where the **** were these people when Paul was running for election????

I’m glad to see Paul is so willing to talk to these jerks. They don’t deserve it one whit.

He’s willing to talk to anybody. I sometimes wonder if he has time left over to do anything else. :)
