I am an imperfect, but grateful, Christian living in upstate New York. I’m married to a wonderful, but imperfect, man. I have two imperfectly grown children, three imperfect grandchildren, and one imperfect grand-ferret. We reside with Sugar, an almost perfect dog, who loves to catch frisbees when her arthritis isn’t kicking up. It’s hard to believe she’s 13 now. In the fall of 2009, we rescued three – yes, three! – little kitties who have taken over the house. They are Pumpkin Spice, Peanut, and Princessa, as named by my oldest granddaughter.
I was born
in upstate New York … again and again. The first time, I was a month too late and messed up my father’s big fishing trip. I’ve rarely been late since.
The second time, I was 39 years old. A Christian 1200 miles away (bless you, Anch!) led me to the Lord over the internet.
The third time, my first granddaughter was learning to talk and couldn’t pronounce “Gramma,” so she called me GaGa, and still does. At some point along the way, my husband added some police talk a(lso) k(nown) a(s) and akaGaGa was born. She has become my presence on the internet.
was drawn by the same granddaughter when she was eight. Trust me, you’d rather see this colorful, smiling face than the real me.
For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. 1Corinthians 2:2
Where do we find a precept in the Bible for Creeds, Confessions, Doctrines and Oaths, and whole carloads of trumpery that we find religion encumbered with in these days? John Adams
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes. Psalms 118:8-9
Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both. Benjamin Franklin
My Foreign Policy
If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. 2 Corinthians 6:14
Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14
Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations – entangling alliances with none. Thomas Jefferson
My Economic Policy
The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower becomes the lender’s slave. (Proverbs 22:7)
Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another (Romans 13:8)
If the government has the power to print its own money, then this constitutional procedure becomes absolutely useless. Ludwig von Mises
My State of the Union
The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property. Section 8a of the U.S. Flag Code
Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.” (John 18:36)
“Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:31-33)
“My” Blue Mountain
The header and footer photos on this site are of Blue Mountain in the central Adirondacks of New York. My grandfather had a camp there on the lake when I was a kid, so this is one of my very special places – and no wonder. I took all these shots of Blue from the same spot in the same week. How could you ever get bored?
