Welcome to the Word for Wednesday meme. I hope you’ll decide to particpate.

Just pick a scripture passage that means something to you right now, copy it into a post with as much or as little commentary as you choose, and put a link to that post in Mr. Linky below. It’s that easy, and you may never know whose heart God touched because you took the time to share His Word.

As we watch our nation crumble around us; as we watch “King Obama” betray the people who elected him; as our congressional “representatives” ignore us; as our hard-earned money becomes worthless; as our rights to privacy and freedom of religion are obliterated; and as the future of our grandchildren is mortgaged into oblivion, it occurs to me that God has allowed all this to happen.

And so I wonder why. Is it because we, as a nation, have murdered over 50 million innocent babies? Is it because we, as a nation, have invaded other sovereign nations, murdering thousands of innocent civilians?

Or is it because we, as individuals, have put our faith in Washington to save us, instead of Jesus? Is it because we, as individuals, have rejected the God who created us and chose instead to worship other gods? I tend to believe this is the root of the problem, and the only solution is to repent and lift our eyes to the one kingdom that cannot be shaken.

As many cried out during the American Revolution, “No King but King Jesus!”

And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, That all the peoples, nations and men of every language Might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one Which will not be destroyed. (Daniel 7:14)
